A lyricist writes the phrases for songs and integrates the lyrics with the music. A lyricist focuses on integrating storytelling, melody and rhythm to give an emotional message that can drive the musical scaffolding. Once the lyrics are set as definitive, it is the instrumentation and voice that provide the scaffolding to support the lyrics.

'49 Pickup Truck (3:58)
©2026 JLKaster
Big Daddy’s old 49 truck parked in back.
Early mornin’ sun shining through the porch.
Load the spare tire and don’t forget the jack.
Fresh out of luck, no grits this morning.
Plenty of eggs, fat back greens, coffee and black-eyed beans.
It’s enough to start the day.
But don’t forget to pray.
Grab the hoe, pitch fork and shovel.
Drive down that dusty Alabama road get another day’s load.
Hope today we have some luck.
Cotton to the right,
cotton to the left.
It’s all ya could see from that old 49 pickup truck
Stop for gas and a bottle of coke at some old juke joint.
Big Daddy was known to have a drink or two.
The heats picking up. A man needs to drink in the heat.
Don’t tell Big Mama.
But she always knew.
Same road home. Park the 49 truck.
Big Mama’s waiting on the back porch, having homemade frozen ice cream, get the ice, get the salt, crank the freezer till you can’t no more.
Supper is barbecue pork. Save the fatback.
The family sauce, nothing else compared.
One gallon vinegar, two of ketchup, molasses and brown sugar.
Boil it down, boil more. Sauce enough for a half hog.
When ya making sauce in Alabama, ya make enough.
That’s my best memories of early life growing up in deep Alabama.
Didn’t know enough to comprehend the cruelness,
knew there was something wrong just didn’t know what.
But I knew it just didn’t make the cut,
Early life formed a thinking man in years to come.
Much has changed since, but you just can’t succumb.
The struggle goes on.
The struggle still goes on.
BackWater Blues (2:24)
©2026 JLKaster
I’m gonna tell you what I’m gonna do.
Gonna tromp around in a backwater slough.
Gonna catch some fish cook ‘em too.
Get a raccoon eat some barbecue.
In this world couldn’t ask for more.
From this life not ask for more.
Possums playin’ along the shore.
Geese getting ready to winter soar
Blackbirds singin’ on tall cattails
Freezin’ cold winter comin’
No time to fail
No time to fail
In the slough ain’t no rule book.
Gonna laugh and love and swear and cuss.
Gonna’ try not to make a real big fuss.
In this world couldn’t ask for more.
From this life not ask for more.
Thank the lord for good luck.
Love my rusty old pick-up truck.
In this world couldn’t ask for more.
From this life not ask for more.
From this life not ask for more.
Gotta play some Mississippi backwater blues
My Old Fishing Boat (2:33)
©2026 JLKaster
The Mississippi River backwater risen,
the river done overflowing’.
You know the backwater’s risen,
the river overflowin’.
If the rain don’t stop we’re in trouble, real big bad trouble.
Backwater risen, the river overflowin’.
Waters up to the porch screen door.
If the rain don’t stop we’re in trouble,
need some help real soon waters on the kitchen floor.
We got the old fishing boat, my old fishing boat.
The night the Mississippi River turned real wild.
Heavy rains made the river go wild,
it set itself free, levees couldn’t hold nothing,
levees all washed away
No banks high enough to hold her back.
Nothing gonna help.
Everything we built was all taken down.
That old Mississippi River took it all away.
It made a hell of a sound.
Took my cows, hogs and house all my corn and tractor too.
Spared my family cause of my old fishing boat.
Nothing else could stay afloat.
Spared my family and dog cause of my old fishing boat.
Nothing else could stay afloat except for my old fishing boat.
My old fishing boat. My old fishing boat.
Put Your Money on the Table (3:07)
©2026 JLKaster
Put your money on the table,
and don’t hold back.
There’s better comin’ ‘round the corner,
You just need to get ready.
You gotta make up your mind to step on down the line.
Step on down the line.
It’s waiting for you.
It’s waiting for you.
Put your money on the table, and don’t hold back.
You know they say, if you first don’t succeed, try and try again.
But I’m tellin’ you, put it all on the line.
Don’t hold back.
Cause each time you try again it just don’t work no better.
Put your money on the table, and don’t hold back.
There’s better times a comin’, now don’t get me wrong.
You gotta do the work,
but when it’s time to play your cards just don’t hold back.
Put your money on the table, and don’t hold back.
It’s waiting for you, don’t hold back.
You can’t just talk big.
You just can’t talk big.
Nobody listens to that stuff.
You got to plan big first,
then plan again until you get it right.
You got to do big.
You gotta go big.
If you want to succeed big
you got to go big.
The Situation (1:47)
©2026 JLKaster
Here's the situation.
Your present position is fleeting, a wave without regimentation. It's hypothetical, it's abstract, there's no tract. Nothing to cause reaction. It's a miracle of illusion, with firm conclusion. On the fringe of delusion without any fusion. Mere folly of the mind just a contusion. Lacking any substance, a pitiful confusion.
Baseless chaos flowing from an empty cup. Seeking level ground without a path. No bumps to recognize, no map or direction. Just a blank sheet without destination. No edge to limit travel, only infinite wonder, with nothing left to plunder. It’s a homogeneity, it’s not just you or just me. Fundamentally, we are one and the same.
That’s the situation.
That’s the situation.
Long Legs (2:58)
©2026 JLKaster
Baby you’re gonna kill somebody with those long legs.
Honey when you’re walking
on down the street,
all the men stumble at your feet.
When they walk on by,
they can’t walk a straight line,
Looks like they been drinking moonshine from nine to nine.
Every man I seen can’t drive straight no more.
Can’t keep their eyes on the road,
no no no no
Just to get a look they run red lights,
then slam on the brakes.
By golly by then it’s way too late,
They took the hook, they took the bait
They took the bait and now it’s way too late
Honey there’s nothin’ wrong with long legs,
they make a man crazy
until he begs and begs.
Darlin’ you know,
they should be against the law,
ya just gotta understand
long legs are a man’s worse flaw,
a man’s worse flaw.
The River's Rhythm (2:42)
©2026 JLKaster
The river’s flow has a rhythm.
The collective earth has brought the eternal flow
of the river to yet another fork
What comes next?
What comes next?
Life’s river flow is unceasing.
There can be no standstill.
To cease flow, is to cease.
How does your river flow?
How does your river flow?
The current grips tightly as it sweeps you along.
It carries you without intention.
As you bob up and down and shift side to side,
the fork draws nearer.
This is the river’s rhythm.
Up, down, side to side.
Either branch of the river’s fork is unfamiliar.
But choose, or the river will choose.
Close your eyes and choose from deep inside.
Close your eyes and choose from deep inside.
Listen to the rhythm of your river.
Tugging and pulling and pushing and prodding.
Listen.
Listen carefully.
You are the river,
You are the river.
This is your rhythm.
This is your rhythm.
This is how your river flows.
This is how your river flows.
Servitude (3:19)
©2026 JLKaster
Workin’ hard in the field all day long.
Pickin’ and shuckin’ in the evenin’ from light to light.
Day after day I can’t wait until it’s night.
By the time light goes even the mule won’t pull no more.
Ain’t gonna get no food till the harvest is picked.
There ain’t no time for supper until the work is done.
Not that much to eat, scraps of hog ribs and skinny chicken,
never nothin’ sweet. What a treat.
Boss keep the pressure on most all day.
Not enough water to keep from drying in the summer sun.
Just enough water to keep us alive.
Share my portion with some elderly folk.
Try and help wherever I can.
Indentured servitude,
that’s what I been told, just enough to keep us barely alive.
Ain’t no slavery no more.
Something’s not right,
Something’s not right,
Something’s not right,
but when you got family there ain’t no escape.
Saturday night’s the juke joint.
Plenty singing and dancing and plenty water there.
It’s the only place I feel truly alive and free.
The only place you can be you and I can be me.
You be you and I be me.
You be you and I be me.
You be you and I be me.
Mississippi River Lowland (3:35)
©2026 JLKaster
The rains keep on pouring down five days and five nights long.
The rains keep on pouring down five days and five nights long.
The rains just keep on pouring down.
Lightning and thunder screaming at the land.
It’s screaming at the land.
The Mississippi River is swelling higher than ever been seen before.
It’s fifteen feet and rising.
Fifteen feet and rising, it’s a frightening sight.
The houses and barns all washing away. It’s taking all the crops,
won’t be enough food to feed the people and livestock.
Poor folk in the lowland are gonna suffer.
When the rain is done it will be a hell of a sight.
A dreadful sight.
The Mississippi River is swelling higher than ever been seen before.
It’s seventeen feet high and rising.
There be no mercy for the backwater poor.
Mamas and their babies praying for salvation.
The men working hard to hold the water back.
The men working hard to hold the water back.
But the Mississippi River is gonna have her own way.
The Mississippi River is gonna have her own way.
She’s going to have her own way.
Her own way.
What Have We Done? (2:52)
©2026 JLKaster
What have we done?
When will we learn? Can we learn?
When will we learn? Can we learn?
Society is failing, it’s have or have not.
Too many in poverty, hunger, disease, and abuse.
It’s all upheld with no political truth.
it’s government by fear, exploitation,
betrayal of trust. No willingness to seek the truth.
What is needed is to support our youth,
what we’ve been doing is only a facade,
a deception at large.
Deception and manipulation have become the norm.
It should be kindness and education
to let opportunity abound.
When will we learn? Can we learn?
When will we learn? Can we learn?
Our babies and youth didn’t start this way.
Remember your children with curiosity and laughter,
innocent playfulness and smiling faces.
What have we done? What have we done?
Our youth, our youth too early look at poverty head on.
When opportunity fails them, they learn other ways.
A cascade of failure insures the same.
Adults and society are a vicious example to emulate,
a poor model to imitate. We must start anew with our youth.
What have we done?
When will we learn? Can we learn?
Stop.
Stop. We must restart anew.
We must restart anew with our youth.
We must restart anew with our youth.
Mama Cried Bad (2:36)
©2026 JLKaster
Mama cried bad.
Mama cried bad.
Papa got locked up, mama cried bad.
Mama got evicted, locked out,
out on the curb, her clothes, photographs
and television on the street.
A gutter full of tears, mama cried bad.
Mama cried bad, my poor mama cried bad.
Mama’s so sad.
Mama cried bad.
I helped mama best I could.
Seeing mama hurt and cryin’
was more than I could take.
Got mad it wasn’t good,
just another bad ache, another mistake.
I turn from a young boy to a man of little hope.
Trouble came in the night and locked hope up.
Trouble came and locked hope up.
Just like papa, I got locked up.
Just like papa, I got locked up.
Mama cried bad, evicted from her house,
stuff on the street.
Heart’s ache.
Everyone’s heart aches.
Sweet lord I wasn’t a bad boy but mama
cried more than I could take.
Cried more than I could take.
Papa got out of prison still mad as hell,
still mad as hell.
He tried to do good but found only revenge,
found only revenge.
Mama don’t ache no more.
Mama don’t ache no more.
Mama don’t ache no more.
Sweet Dignity (4:04)
©2026 JLKaster
DIGNITY
It’s not part of my story.
Not part of my youthful plan.
It escaped me somewhere in my life.
And along came strife.
No dignity left.
And yet I survive.
Don’t want no pity, just a little
DIGNITY
Don’t need no sympathy.
Ain’t got no choice, simply need to survive.
It’s a cruel place to be, not part of society glee.
No medical care, not enough for copay,
dental or mental neither, it’s a scare.
It’s more than I can sometimes bear.
DIGNITY
Hit a dumpster for hope, looking for revival.
My boot straps broke a long time ago.
Left me sleepin’ on the street, such a mental defeat.
Just got to believe, it’s such a cruel life.
That’s why I got the dignity blues
DIGNITY
It makes me blue,
now let me say this
during my whole life I tried to improve
but just couldn’t get the groove.
I asked for help but just didn’t understand.
Got some education but mostly got canned.
Didn’t matter none, no vitality.
Not everyone born with equal capability.
Maybe business could help find a way for us of dimmer hope.
DIGNITY
Worked hard all my life for little to nothing only to lose.
Just circumstance to be used.
You’re a broken thread away from these same blues.
Now I still got the poor dignity blues.
It’s a cruel place made by cruel folk.
I need a bootstrap not a handout.
But I still have hope even with no clout.
No way to survive made me lie, steal and cheat.
I started to use, mixed with cheap whiskey drink.
But recognize even that gave me a taste of dignity.
The sweet taste of dignity.
The sweet taste of dignity.
Big Red Rooster (3:31)
©2026 JLKaster
Hey big red rooster, where’s your woman now?
Hey big red rooster, where’s your woman now?
She loved you like a dog loves a bone.
Your woman do everything for you.
Made your bed, cooked your food,
washed your clothes and held your hand.
All you did was strut and squawk all the time.
Strut and squawk and talk trash all the time.
She don’t care if you strut all night long.
She don’t care no more if you squawk all day.
Hey big red rooster, where’s your woman now?
All your nonsense and now the chickens
come home to roost, bad karma is what you get.
Your woman left you gone to Chicago,
she’s gone to Chicago to roost.
You got to treat your woman right,
otherwise know that she’s gonna take flight.
Hey big red rooster, where’s your woman now?
Don’t cry no more, cause it’s too late.
You are down and out, nothing to celebrate,
got no place to go, cause your woman’s gone to Chicago.
Hey big red rooster, where’s your woman now?
Where’s your woman now?
Hey big red rooster, where’s your woman now?
Life on the Mississippi River (3:09)
©2026 JLKaster
Early fog on glassy waters broken by a river man.
Fog so thick with no sight.
The blindness of the fog enhanced smell of the water
and mud kicked up by the churning motor.
That became the map.
The direction that led to the fishing grounds.
That’s the gift of the Mississippi River.
Gift of the Mississippi River.
Flashing barge lights sparkling through the island trees.
On the Mississippi River, that’s the foggy early morning.
The quietness of the night broken
by the grumbling of the barge’s tow
through the island trees muting the river’s wailing.
That’s the gift of the Mississippi River.
Gift of the Mississippi River.
The fish net’s tar grabs the skin.
Fingers felt barren, the hands were tough.
Grab again, again, and again, from the water,
heavy, heaping mound of net. grab and pull.
That’s the gift of the Mississippi River.
Gift of the Mississippi River.
Gift of the river tagged by the net’s lattice,
fish scales wildly scatter on the boat.
Another fish in the tank, another fish, and another.
Long run back to land firm.
Prop under load grinds the mud releasing the river’s perfume.
The work of love
The work of love.
The Mississippi River taught me how to love, how to love.
Unmalleable Devotion (2:58)
©2026 JLKaster
The unmalleable devotion by political party loyalists
seeds a dogmatic style of uncompromisable politics,
that ultimately sways towards political fascism.
No matter if it’s right or left.
This style embraces the moral fissure of party duty versus public duty.
The crevasse that separates what we know to be personally honest and truthful,
and that which we manifest as our subverted action is the dilemma of humankind that casts devastation upon an otherwise healthy society, child, woman and man.
Individual political choices of party duty coalesce into a hardened putty of personal deceit.
Choices borne of individual moral dishonesty are packed into group tragedy.
The political trajectory of collective displaced loyalty of a policy making body eventually erodes into a new normalcy.
Such a “new normal” quickly proliferates as an end-product of political complicity, by insidiously marching toward a dictatorially suppressive government.
That is the trodden path that history has marched many times previously.
The delusional mindset of individuals is spurred by a frail ethical code easily perpetuated by fear.
Politicians’ beta test political inferences to assess the boundaries of constituency acceptability.
Narcissistic political strategies test irrational biases to impregnate pseudo-rational acceptance by the constituency.
Irrational arguments benefit the agenda of a single, exclusive group at the expense of the whole.
Political tragedy is at its worst when it promulgates across all levels of the political spectrum, local, state, and federal,
and within the consumption of all three branches of government ending our democratic state as it was conceived.
The use of intimidation and fear tactics maintains obedience within narrow lines. The consequence of fear is that it kills mind
a necessity of political enrichment, but contagion to both egalitarian democracy and an impending crisis.
In the end, an unabated power concentrated irrational agenda can be exhaustive upon the gears of democracy.
Where My Mojo Go? (3:06)
©2026 JLKaster
Where my mojo go
Where my mojo go
My mojo left and
gone to Chicago
Where my mojo go
Where my mojo go
Where my mojo go
my mojo left and gone to Chicago
Where my woman go
Where my woman go, she took my mojo.
They left for New York or maybe LA, probably Chicago.
She took my money
and took my pickup truck.
Worst of all my woman took my mojo and
left me with bad luck.
She left me with bad luck.
All I know, all I know for sure,
all I know my mojo got up and went away with my woman.
It got up and left with my woman.
That’s when my troubles all began.
They went to Chicago.
Can the Children Survive? (3:55)
©2026 JLKaster
Nature is a natural expression of Earth’s beauty.
An expression of Earth’s resources.
Humanity is part of that beauty.
We are a part of that beauty.
As we use nature’s resources, we knowingly degrade them.
That is what is passed on to the next generation.
Degraded waste resources are what our children are left with.
Climate warming is a global result of endless pollution.
Can we survive with contaminated water and air?
Can the children survive?
Artificial intelligence can be a destructive tool that accelerates degradation,
or a tool that builds sustainability into the future.
Can we learn to use it wisely?
Artificial intelligence could save our children’s children.
Each generation uses Earth’s resources to their advantage.
In the kingdom of life, each generation seeks and uses the best resources available that best supports selfish self.
Human stewardship of nature and caring for each other
is important to sustainability.
We harvest the best resources that nature has to offer,
not thinking seriously about future generations.
Can we survive with contaminated water and air?
Can the children survive?
When will we learn?
When will we learn?
We must recycle the waste we produce.
Without reuse humanity is not sustainable.
Can we learn from artificial intelligence?
Can we learn from artificial intelligence?
As each generation harvests the best resources available,
the next generation is left with their predecessor’s waste leftovers.
Science and technology must advance the next generation’s
ability to cleverly use marginal resources.
This benefits the maintenance of the standard of living between generations; it benefits all children.
Artificial intelligence is yet another technological advancement that will ultimately benefit future generations by reimagining the sustainable use of nature’s resources.
The future for our children is ours to control.
Ours alone to control. Our destiny alone to control.
Can we survive with contaminated water and air?
Can the children survive?
Can the children survive?
Still in Love with You (2:26)
©2026 JLKaster
Still In love with you.
I’m still in love with you.
Come closer so I can whisper again, “I’m still in love with you”.
The moon on the horizon makes me want to dance with you.
Let’s feel the moonbeams as they move us.
Trees gently waving with joy and the surf rolling blue water across the shoreline singing its song.
I celebrate the shine in your eyes, the invitation of your smile,
and the warmth of your heart.
I love our dance through life together.
I love our dance through life, together,
because I’ll always be in love with you.
I love our dance through life,
I’ll always be in love with you.
I’m in love with you.
Cape Horn (2:35)
©2026 JLKaster
Cape Horn was pinched between
Antarctica and South America.
Notorious for wild currents where
the Pacific meets the Atlantic.
The crossing nearly took our ship and all of us with her.
I swore to live better if I were to survive.
It’s taken many a ship to a deep ocean grave.
Bacell’s Albatross ever present above.
The severe winds of a storm took her down.
Took her down.
In a pub near the Tierra del Fuego archipelago
I met a lady or did she meet me.
A darling woman, I spent five days.
The land of fire proved to be true,
how I wished for that life,
but the tug of the sea couldn’t be ignored.
For money I worked the copper mines for three long years,
then made my way to Ushuaia to find her again.
She’d past on to the heavens.
Gone ever more on the wind.
What could have been?
What could have been?
A loving woman couldn’t pull me away from the sea.
My domicile was the sea.
It was my life blood.
With many tears we parted way.
A love I had never forgotten.
A love not forgotten.
Never to arrive at my doorstep again.
A love never forgotten.
A love never forgotten.
Lowdown on My Dog (3:05)
©2026 JLKaster
Got the lowdown on my dog.
Lowdown on my dog.
He’s barking and growling, running wild
like a tomorrow won’t come no more.
He was a new pup when I brought him to the Mississippi River.
Got the low down on my dog.
The low down on my dog.
Ripper was his name, he was a black lab pup
chewing and gnawing everything in his path.
Not long after that he grew those long lanky legs.
Ripper could run.
Ripper could run.
Ripper could run.
Got the low down on my dog.
The low down on my dog.
Ripper was a River dog. He ran free day and night.
Ripper never veered from his stomping grounds.
He spent his day in the water, swamping around day after day.
Ripper could spot ducks a mile away
and geese at 2 miles.
Geese at 2 miles,
Geese at 2 miles.
Got the low down on my dog.
The low down on my dog.
The low down was be free, run with the wind,
explore the land, love the water, live without fear.
That’s the low down on Ripper.
Be free, run with the wind, explore the land,
love the water, live without fear.
Got the low, got the low, got the low,
got the low down on my dog
Got the lowdown on my dog
lowdown on my dog,
lowdown on my dog.
Wildflower (2:29)
©2026 JLKaster
Our journey began as a spring prairie flower.
That dazzling first look imprinted in our story.
The dazzling night starlight sky,
beckoning a new morning and new memory.
So glad I spent my life with the wildflower in you.
I love the wildflower in you.
Your life is a prairie, and you are the wildflower.
You touch all those that gaze upon you.
Each spring the prairie’s rebirth spawns new possibility,
an intensity of diverse young growth and hope.
Our prairie grows in beauty with each passing year
of birth and rebirth.
It is a timeless beauty.
A timeless beauty.
Growing wild and free in our hearts.
Growing wild in our hearts.
So glad I spent my life with the wildflower in you.
The wildflower in you.
The wildflower of you.
Farewell Science (3:27)
©2026 JLKaster
Spend your time wisely.
Spend your time wisely.
I treasure my relationship with science.
Science provided many experiences
that enriched my understanding of life.
Time, and boundaries, respect, circumstance,
the importance of struggle.
Farewell science, pardon me as I navigate from you.
I depart from my long science journey; I bid you farewell.
Time is the essential force that life moves through.
While time has no limits, time has no limits.
But life, but life has many limits. Spend your time wisely.
Spend your time wisely.
Travel outside of your own traditional boundaries,
explore that which you have not yet experienced before.
A challenge will return many new rewards.
Many new rewards.
Treat others with respect even when they waver in that task.
We all possess different attributes of ability and the capacity to understand.
These differences are mostly acquired by one’s circumstance.
One’s circumstances of life.
I depart from my long science journey.
I bid you farewell.
Farewell science, pardon me as I navigate away from you.
Pardon me as I navigate from you.
I take leave of you to explore new challenges
and cross new boundaries.
It is to the other sea, the other woodland,
the other mountain,
the other sky that draws me.
A different path does my trek take me.
Frequent sojourns provide time for reflection.
Deep introspection.
Make a broad stroke with your brush,
for your time too will pass quickly as it will
for the children of your children.
Make no mistake that the path of trial is before you.
It is this essential contrast that manifests as life well lived.
The essential contrast can be a struggle,
but manifests as life well lived.
Life well lived.
Life well lived.
Good Old Time in Milwaukee (2:25)
©2026 JLKaster
I’m gonna leave Chicago and go to Milwaukee for the night.
Won’t you please come with me, we will see all the sights.
We’ll go north to Milwaukee, it’s a beautiful city with fabulous entertainment and parks to sit and gaze over Lake Michigan.
Watch the moon rise light up the evening sky.
We’ll stroll the theater district, hold hands at the Calatrava Art Museum, take the trolly across town, stroll the riverwalk tonight.
It’s seated in rich symphony repertoire or maybe we’ll see the ballet.
There’s always some blues music, or jazz even hip hop that rings out through the city.
We’ll stop for a cocktail and hug and kiss all night,
Hug and kiss until the morning light.
Tonight we’re gonna have ourselves a good old time in Milwaukee.
We’ll have a good old time in Milwaukee.

What You Gonna Do? (3:24)
©2026 JLKaster
Our country has a problem. It comes down to incompetent politicians, they are responsible for our sad political condition.
Whatcha gonna do?
Whatcha gonna do?
Vote, vote,
vote smart.
That’s where we have to start.
Don’t matter if you are left or right. We gotta vote smart. That’s whatcha gotta do to clean up the mess the politicians have made that will pull us apart.
But whatcha gonna do?
Whatcha gonna do?
Politicians ripping us all off. They’re a greedy bunch, a greedy bunch. Politicians spend our taxes to feed their nasty greed. They should be spending it to fulfill the people’s need. It’s a corrupt system, they all get rich from the people feeding their greed.
I’m gonna tell you straight up, don’t listen to their promises, it’s just propaganda so they can corrupt. By God it makes me want to throw up.
But whatcha gonna do?
Whatcha gonna do?
They made a mess of this country, they lie, cheat, and steal, always trying to do another worthless deal.
Instead of doing what is right, honest, and fair,
they bend and twist the truth cause they just don’t care.
But whatcha gonna do?
Whatcha gonna do?
Politicians are destroying the education system, agriculture too. The social system is collapsing and infrastructure of the country is crumbling. Politicians stoke their selfishness and stuff their pockets with our children’s future.
But whatcha gonna do?
Whatcha gonna do?
How did politicians get to be such geniuses? They don’t listen to common sense cause they’re too arrogant and busy twisting the facts all around.
The common woman, man,
and I know even my dog, could sit down at the kitchen table to discuss and solve. But in Washington DC and even at home the politicians at the table just aren’t capable, just not able.
But whatcha gonna do?
Whatcha gonna do?
Instead of creating fictitious hoax’s, arguments and excuses, and always blaming someone else,
they need to roll up their sleeves and get to work. Politicians need to rely on real experts instead of bogus, arrogant people that only talk trash and stay on vacation.
A ploy designed to create chaos, destruction and divide the good people of our nation.
But whatcha gonna do?
Whatcha gonna do?
Vote, vote, vote smart.
That’s whatcha gonna do.
Don’t matter if you are left or right.
You gotta vote smart. That’s whatcha gonna do.
That’s whatcha gotta do.
That’s whatcha gotta do.

Twinkling Christmas Lights (2:11)
©2026 JLKaster
I’m a poor little Christmas tree.
Reaching as high as I can be.
See my little lights growing bright.
Spreading joy through out the night.
Red and green, and blue and white.
Red and green and blue and white.
Flashing hope all through the night.
Young and old, short and tall alike, wishing for a joyous Christmas delight.
When I grow big I’ll light the world and let friendship, love and harmony glow.
I’ll glow many colors just like a happy rainbow.
I’ll light the world when I grow and let friendship, love, and harmony glow.
Red and green and blue and white, orange and purple and yellow and black, brown and gray and even with stripes.
Christmas lights twinkling bright, all the colors glowing in the night.
